My favourite book.
The story of the universe.
I can't explain what this book means for me. Read it when I was 15 years old, and changed my mind. Decided to become astronaut and after many years of hard work, my dream bacame true. Worked for the NASA and visited pioneering Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus. Came back to tell the world. Thanks Frank.

Hesse submerges the reader in the trip of life.
Hesse spent his lifetime as a missionary in India. As a Christian he pictured the teachings of the philosophical ideas of the mysticism of Buddha and translated it to the western world. This book was a hit, an icon of the pop culture.

A farm or a country, it does not matter. Right the same.
The animals are hungry, they feel unfairly treated, and finally decide what the logic demands to do. They reveal and take power. And once they control everything, more questions arise. Orwell's did it.
The best: Orwell.
The worst: I don't just understand why Orwell fought by the Republican side in Spain, and pretty much this book is a communist critique.

We are hyper developed wolves. Otherwise, there's no survival.
Our anxious minds looking for answers. The night, the music. The meaning of everything.
Main character takes a walk and wonders why and who and how long and all the questions, suffering, vision, and struggles. And he enjos the sound of a saxophon and speaks with the actor. And makes the night and the little things a whole existencialist incursion to the rooted beliefs of our conciousness.

Siddharta is a man who has the questions every human has. He travels looking for the answers.
In a lyrical, beautifully and spiritual way of explaining things, Hesse, once a Jung' patient, explains anxiety, fear, love, sex, family, nature, work, friendship... and most of everything, life.

A detailed explanation of a murder
Raskolnikov struggles with morals. Kills. And realizes.
The book was writen in 1768 I think. It is a very simplistic and realistic description of a man that is disappointed with life and decides to change the world doing what it shouldn't be done.
The best: I like everything. The atmosphere. The narrative.

The island by the children.
Plane crash with children surviving in a lost island.
This book is a pearl. You will read it and you will feel claustrophobia. You will have memories of your infancy, and will understand in hindsight what to be a kid means. Also, and I don't want to spoil, from the begining till the end, mostly, this is serious words.

Dystopian past.
How the past 1984 year was seen by Orwell a hundred years ago.
It is something in this book that is spot on. It's a picture, a vision of an age that has been frozen, let's better say, that has been kept in time, as a gift for all of us. It's cool, is beautiful, it's imaginative, aggressive, sad... and it's somewhat a reflection of the political fears coming from those difficult years post World War II.
The best: It's modern, it's cool.
The worst: Absolutely nothing.
